Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl
The strawberry banana smoothie is a classic. It’s always been a favorite of mine.
This Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl is made with a little less liquid than a classic banana smoothie and with toppings.
It’s easy to make with only four ingredients – strawberries, banana, milk, and ground flaxseed.
Strawberries: Strawberries are high in fiber and low in calories. They add a great flavor to the smoothie. I like to use frozen strawberries to skip the ice, but you could also use fresh strawberries.
Bananas: Bananas contain potassium, antioxidants, fiber, and aid in digestion. They also add a great flavor to the smoothie.
Milk: Any type of milk can be used in the smoothie bowl: dairy milk, almond milk, oat milk. I prefer to use almond milk. Almond milk provides a silky consistency to the smoothie while giving a lightly sweet flavor.
You could alternatively use water or juice in place of milk.
Ground flaxseed: Flaxseed is seen as a super food and adds yet another health factor to the smoothie. It provides health benefits while not altering the flavor of the smoothie.

- Contains protein
- Contains iron
- Contains Omega-3 essential fatty acids
- Very subtle flavor
How to make the Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl:
Add fruit to a blender. I like to use frozen fruit so that I can skip the ice, but you could use fresh fruit and add ice to the blender.
Add your choice of liquid: milk, water, juice.
Add the ground flaxseeds and blend until smooth. The consistency should be a little thicker than a smoothie.
Pour into a bowl and add toppings.
Topping ideas:
- Berries: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries
- Sliced banana
- Sliced almonds
- Shredded coconut
- Chocolate chips
- Cacao nibs
- Nut butter: peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter
- Honey or agave

Ingredients
- 2 cups Frozen strawberries
- 1/2 Banana
- 1/4 cup Almond milk (or your choice of liquid)*
- 1 tsp Ground flaxseeds
Instructions
- Add frozen fruit, milk, and ground flaxseeds to blender. Blend until smooth. Add more liquid if needed.
- Pour smoothie into bowl and top with fresh fruit or toppings of your choice.
